Adult Ministry

We encourage every adult to be involved in a Bible study with other adults in addition to Sunday morning worship.  There are numerous opportunities for you to get involved.  Here are three specific types of groups you can connect with:

1. Sunday School.  We currently have three adult Sunday School classes and are preparing to add a fourth.  They are held during both worship services and provide opportunities to study scripture together.
2. Small Groups.  We have numerous small groups that meet on Wednesday nights.  These include senior adult, adult and college groups that meet on campus.  There is also an off-campus adult and young adult group that meet in homes as well.
3. Women's and Men's Groups.  There are four Women's bible studies and two Men's groups that meet during the week as well.

Senior Adult Ministry

The Senior Adult Ministry is the ministry of New Hope Christian designed to primarily meet the specialized needs of senior adults and help them grow in their ability to model Christian love.

• They bridge the gap that often forms between senior adults and the congregation.
• They keep senior adults actively involved in the church and the community.
• They provide an opportunity for fellowship and the development of significant relationships among senior adults.
• They strengthen and inspire senior adults by providing fellowship to nurture lasting relationships.

We believe that seniors possess the most valuable commodity of our day in abundance -time. They have time to serve, time to share and time to minister. Seniors have a special opportunity to be prayer warriors and devote themselves to the things of God.

Our seniors have a great deal to offer to the younger generations. Many of them have walked with the Lord for decades and their wisdom needs to be passed on.

Many of our seniors participate in hospital and shut-in visitations, prayer and card ministries bringing joy to the lives of others and receiving blessings from the Lord.

Mickey Derrow is our Minister to Seniors.

Worship Choir

The Worship Choir seeks to magnify the Lord by enhancing each Worship Service and through special programs. This group seeks any adult who wishes to lend their time and talents to exalting the Lord through song in a large group. Jeanie VandeLinde is the Adult Choir Director. Practices are Sunday evenings 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. September through May.

Women's Ministry

The Women's Ministry provides opportunities for women to learn about God and His ways, to grow in a personal relationship with Him, to serve God with their spiritual gifts and to enjoy fellowship with one another.

The Women's Ministry offers:

• Women's Bible Study:  These groups meet collectively once a week on either Sunday Evening, Tuesday Morning, Wednesday Evening, or Thursday Evening.
• Community Outreach:  Designed to reach our hands and hearts out to those in the community who are in need. This group works at the Rescue Mission, Blue Ridge Women's Center, Assisted Living/Nursing Homes, visiting shut in members, and brings baked goods to our Police, Fire & Rescue workers.
• Social Events: These events are intended for our women to get together and fellowship, relax and enjoy themselves with other Christian sisters.
• Special Events: We promote special events each year that will enrich our spiritual lives and fill our hearts and souls with the awesome love and power of Jesus Christ.
